In his first public address as King, His Majesty pledged his commitment to a life dedicated to serving the people of the United Kingdom, Commonwealth and Overseas Territories.
Paying tribute to his late mother, The King vowed to continue to uphold the values that made Queen Elizabeth II a beloved figure during her reign, those of loyalty, respect and love.
As The Prince of Wales, His Majesty long played an active role in official and ceremonial duties in the United Kingdom and overseas. In 2019, His Majesty spent time in the Cayman Islands, visiting all three islands while here.
The King has worked closely with many charitable organisations, himself establishing more than 20 charities over 40 years including The Prince’s Trust, The Prince’s Foundation and The Prince of Wales’s Charitable Fund. He publicly supported a wide variety of causes relating to the environment, rural communities, the built environment, the arts, healthcare and education.
